Test Project

After reinstalling .11 after receiving .19 as a hotfix to a previous issue, the project won't build as an app like before, just an exe and dll, no icon. I'm also missing all the packaging features like add mono to the app and app provisioning.

It was a monomac project then it was converted to a xamian.mac project. When running the app, this is the error that appears:
Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'XamMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.File name: 'XamMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'[ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'XamMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.File name: 'XamMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'

Attached is the test project and screenshot

This seems like it may be an installer bug. Is this still an issue? If so would you please provide the output of the following command?

find /Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.Mac.framework
Comment 3 J.P. Trosclair 2013-03-07 09:38:30 UTC
$ find /Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.Mac.framework
find: /Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.Mac.framework: No such file or directory

The information I'm providing here applies to 4.0.1, which I installed via the built-in updater this morning. I've had this issue since I first installed Xamarin Studio about 2-3 weeks ago which I'm assuming was 4.0.0.

I reinstalled Xamarin Studio and got a new (to me) message suggesting that I need to buy Xamarin Studio for Mac development, which I have not, so this would explain why the framework was missing.

Hey folks,
I was told to trail this bug with a similar situation. I have Xamarin Studio installed and I added MonoMac as a reference to a project I am working. I am using MonoMac.AppKit and MonoMac.Foundation. My problem comes not when compiling, but when executing. The project hangs on the first click of Run, and it will not error out until I click the continue button. When I do that I receive the following messages in the output:
Unhandled Exception:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'MonoMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.
File name: 'MonoMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'
[ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'MonoMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.
File name: 'MonoMac, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'

Looking at other articles, I assumed I needed monomac.dll somewhere on the Mac, although I cannot find it. The folder mentioned above exists, and it has a set of subfolders include the XamarinMac.dll, but no monomac.dll (if that is what I am supposed to have?).

Switched over to XamMac reference and I am seeing the same problem as described as the OP with this bug. But the difference is that I have a licence for the software.

This was a Xamarin.Mac installer issue and has long since been resolved.
