A Readme in Mac Mono package installer reads:
A simple uninstallMono.sh script is included in the disk image. This is shell script that must be run as root, and it will remove the Mono.framework and the links in /usr/bin.
However the disk image contains only MonoFramework-MDK-2.10.5_0.macos10.xamarin.x86.pkg.
Expected: either the unininstall script is included in DMG or Readme file doesn't advertise it.
Mono version: Mono.framework 2.10.5_0.
Additionally the proper bug category for this (Mono Distribution/Packaging) is not found here in Xamarin bugzilla, though it is in the list in http://www.mono-project.com/Bugs (link to adding bug in this category is broken).
I can CONFIRM the above report by Cyril.
I just wanted to add, after taking a look at the install package with Pacifict, ALL of the installed MonoFramework-MRE-2.10.5 files appear to be contained in:
Root drive -> Library -> Frameworks -> Mono.framework
...therefore, aMonoFramework-MRE-2.10.5 could be fully "Uninstalled" by simply deleting the "Mono.framework" folder found at the above indicated location.
All the best!
Going through old bugs. Reassigning to release.
We no longer ships DMGs for mono, not sure how we could offer that shell script instead.
You can uninstall Mono with the commands mentioned in http://www.mono-project.com/docs/about-mono/supported-platforms/osx/#uninstalling-mono-on-mac-os-x.
I'll remove the note about the uninstallMono.sh from the installer.
