Repro project. Open and follow instructions in the comments in the constructor.
When working on the constructor of a class, there is no code completion for accessing any properties of that same class. Sometimes typing "this." first works around the problem, but not always (it does not for me in the repro case I attached).
Please see repro project.
I get the same issue when working inside two if statements - if a new variable is being declared, it breaks the code completion. Video here - http://screencast.com/t/hdYbpqCRSjXo (Using MonoDevelop 2.8 beta 3)
the 1st one is no bug - the property is not accessible in that context.
Try to make the property static & it will work or access it from a non static method.
@Chris: can't repro that one with 2.8 - is however something we had in 2.6. But anyways unrelated to the reported one. Try to look it the navigation bar - does it loose the current method when that happens ? This is always an indicator that code completion now will fail.
I could need the project where that fails with 2.8 btw. or a use case ([ike the project in that report).
I have filed this as a different bug for clarity - http://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1076
