MTVS seems to have regressed in load speed at some point (tested with 730). A brand new template project took nearly a full minute to load:

Networking IO is being blocked for on the UI thread, see attached screenshot of call stack.

1. Create a new HelloWorld iPhone app
2. Close Visual Studio
3. Open Visual Studio
4. Open previously created app

Might be activation check. If yes, then we should bounce it to the components guys. Dominique, can you take a look?
Comment 2 Eric Maupin 2013-01-24 12:57:28 UTC
This might be fixed already or somehow I lucked out of it. After updating to 761, I no longer run into this.
Comment 3 Marek Habersack 2013-01-24 17:46:15 UTC
Or VS is just acting up in its usual style :) :P

Or, you know, not, given the proof.

I've run into this a couple times again now. It's not as common as it was, but still occurs periodically with the same freeze point.
Comment 5 Marek Habersack 2013-01-25 05:26:01 UTC
I'm going to leave this bug open, but with low priority since it's rather hard to reproduce.
Comment 6 Dominique Louis 2013-06-03 17:32:08 UTC
Please retest with latest master. Dean's Startup changes to address this issue.
Comment 7 Mohit Kheterpal 2013-07-15 14:53:11 UTC
Today we have checked this issue with following builds :

VS 2010/2012
MTVS 1.3.227

VS is not taking too much time to create a iOS project when we are not
configured with Mac server.

Screencast :

VS 2012 :http://screencast.com/t/fikVnw4SwTEb

VS 2010 :http://screencast.com/t/LcCyO1crFult

Hence changes its status to verified.
