Under windows and mac os x it's possible to navigate treeviews, eg in windows explorer, only with the cursor keys.
If you are on a node with subnodes, you can use curor left to collapse the node/folder.

In gtk this is normally done by - and + (for expand). This is tedious.

By adding this to ~/.gtkrc-2.0 it is possible to overcome this behaviour:

binding "gtk-binding-tree-view" {
    bind "Left"      { "expand-collapse-cursor-row" (0,0,0) }
    bind "Right"     { "expand-collapse-cursor-row" (0,1,0) }
}
class "GtkTreeView" binding "gtk-binding-tree-view"

Would it be possible to add this to MonoDevelop (or even Mono itself).
It would be also ok, if there would be an option to change the users .gtkrc-2.0 file in the home directory.

Both the Solution pad and the Classes pad now handle the arrow keys as expected, although the Document Outline pad does not. The latter has separate keyboard navigation issues anyway, since a click/selection automatically activates the scrolling and buffer focus behavior, while the other two use double click and Enter to activate it.
