I have tried this on both Windows and on Linux (using MonoDevelop 3.06) and I only experience this issue on Linux. We maintain a large Visual Studio 2010 project, using WCF, database stuff, and some advanced UI stuff all in one solution.
On Windows, I can successfully use MonoDevelop to build this VS 10 solution.
However, when I try to do the same on Linux using the same version of MonoDevelop on the same solution, I receive build errors related to System.Data.SqlDbType. It says that it is missing the type Structured (that we use heavily for parameterized queries). It also seems to be missing some other data types.
This is what I would expect to see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.data.sqldbtype%28v=vs.100%29.aspx
But these are all that are listed: http://pastebin.com/YEVSQ5H3
I can only interpret this as a bug.
