1. Create a MonoTouch Unit Test project
2. Double click on the project name to open project options
3. Go to Build -> Compiler -> Addition Options -> Additional Arguments and enter any valid options or just "-TEST"
4. Click OK to save
5. Double click on the project name to open project options
6. Go to Build -> Compiler and verify the settings are still saved and then click Cancel
7. Double click on the project name to open project options
8. Go to Build -> IPhone IPA Options and do nothing else
9. Go to Build -> Compiler and notice the additional arguments are gone, they will remain gone until you click cancel or ok and then they will be back when you go back in

This will happen if you go to iPhone Bundle Signing as well. This only seems to happen when you click on those two iPhone options.

This is because the active configuration of the optional dialog is changed automatically when you switch to a panel that doesn't support that configuration. Nothing's "wrong" as such, but I agree it is confusing if you don't spot it change.

Basically, suppose your active configuration is "Debug|iPhoneSimulator". When you open the dialog, any configuration-specific panels will edit that configuration, as shown in the dropdowns at the top of the panel. You can use them to edit other configurations using the dropdown. So far, this is just like VS.

Some MonoTouch panels are only valid for certain platforms - "Bundle Signing" and "IPA options" only apply to native builds , i.e. the iPhone configurations, not the iPhoneSimulator configurations. The dialog handles this by filtering other configurations from the dropdowns, and switching to one of the configurations for which it is valid. The problem, of course, is that most people don't notice it switched.

Maybe it should instead show all configurations in the dropdown, but show a placeholder for some of them e.g. "IPA options do not apply to this configuration".
