After upgrading I received the following error trying to edit any xib in my project.

System.ArgumentException: Multiple types (Zipifi.IOS.AppDelegate and Zipifi.iOS.AppDelegate) registered with the same Objective-C name: AppDelegate

This was working fine before the upgrade. After talking to the admin on the Xamarin chat site we figured out the namespace was the issue. After the upgrade, the namespace of Zipifi.iOS (lower case i) was being referenced as Zipif.IOS (upper case I). Once I renamed all my names spaces to Zipifi.IOS (upper case) i was able to edit all the xib fiels.

Mike: any ideas on this? it seems type-system related.
Comment 2 Mike Krüger 2013-01-04 02:22:14 UTC
Why is this type system related ? I think the project info just removes the namespace name when registering objective c objects - that's why name clashes can cause that.

I'm not sure what we can do about this...

I don't think we want to simply ignore the fact that you had a Zipifi.iOS and a Zipifi.IOS namespace.

Can you explain what you meant by this?

"After talking to the admin on the
Xamarin chat site we figured out the namespace was the issue. After the
upgrade, the namespace of Zipifi.iOS (lower case i) was being referenced as
Zipif.IOS (upper case I). Once I renamed all my names spaces to Zipifi.IOS
(upper case) i was able to edit all the xib fiels."

The other MonoDevelop developers and I don't understand what you are saying.

Where were these namespaces that you changed? In the code? or in some settings somewhere?

How did you have 2 AppDelegates with differently capitalized namespaces?

I'm just trying to figure out how to reproduce this problem.
