When i try to install MonoDevelop i get this error - error code 2804
Hey there dimabal10000,
I have a few avenues of exploration for getting to the bottom of this.
The error you are experiencing looks like an a standard Windows Installer error and comes with a message that reads like this:
On activation of the control on dialog CMsiDialog failed to evaluate the condition ."
If possible (and if I'm on the right track with this - let me know!), please send the full text of the error message. Any other steps or screenshots would be useful as well.
If you are running the installation from the MonoDevelop Updater, you could provide the updater log. It will be at a path that looks like:
Additionally, you can try installing from the standalone installer instead - http://download.xamarin.com/monodevelop/Windows/MonoDevelop-3.0.6.msi
If you experience the same problem when running the .msi installer (or you have been using it the entire time) it would be very helpful if you could send the log of the installation. The log can be retrieved by running the installer from the command line (cmd.exe) with these steps:
1. Download the standalone installer from the link provided under 2) above.
2. Run cmd.exe from the start menu
3. change the current directory to the location of the installer. eg:
4. Run msiexec using the following command:
msiexec /i MonoDevelop-3.0.6.msi /lv package.log
5. Proceed through the installation.
After you experience the error and close the installer, please send the package.log that was output.
Thanks for the help figuring it out.
PS. Why you put it into Android Designer?
