VERIFIED DUPLICATE of bug 6921

Description Jatin 2012-10-19 04:02:17 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any MonoTouch application for example: 'Touch'
2. Remove the semi-colon from any line so that it may effect in the build error.
3. Build the application.
4. Now click inside the Build output window, and try to select all through 'command + a'.
5. Observe that nothing happens and the user is not able to select all.

Actual result: For any MT application when build error appears, the user is not able to 'Select All' the build output through 'command + a'. However, when the application build successfully and the build output does not appears, then the user is successfully able to Select All the build output through 'command + a'.

Expected result: For any MT application whether the application build successfully or not, the user should successfully able to Select All the build output through 'command + a'.

Environment information:
All Mac
MD 3.0.5 - c01e9f4183da852b14fc73d8103172e5955bfc7c
MT 6.0.5 - 4b671fd2b6c7f5df5d39223f6e249a16981c85d7
Mono 2.10.9

Note: This issue is not appearing in case of MFA application, as in case of MFA application user is able to Select All the build output through 'command + a'.

Regression status: Not a REGRESSION, as this issue exists with the stable version of MD and MT.

Today, we have verified this issue with following build:

MD 4.0 - 914a3a320f19354928bc0eac9704db88296e806d
MT 6.0.4 (stable)
MFA 4.2.7 (Stable)
Mono Framework 2.10.10 - a0f2930ea5c6042ff896c137fa138bba8ebbdb9c

Now, this issue does not exist with this build and user is able to select build error output through 'command + a' keys of keyboard successfully.

I am not sure if the build output behavior is handled add-in by add-in, but the Build output window should have normal select/copy/paste functionality everywhere.

If these are indeed separate bugs we can re-separate.

Comment 5 Jatin 2013-02-25 03:31:08 UTC
This issue is not a duplicate of the bug 6921 as the bug 6921 states that the shortcut for the Select all is missing from the 'Application output' window. However, in the above issue it says that the user is not able to Select all the 'Build output' using 'command+a' keybindings.

Also we have verified this with the latest build of MT and MD:
MT 6.3.0.27
MD 4.0 - 7e31a9b052b9452b65268a357b4c0b83a848a6f8

And now with the latest builds the user is successfully able to Select all the 'Build output' using 'command+a' keybindings.

So please look into it, and confirm if we can close this issue as Verified - Fixed.
Comment 6 Mohit Kheterpal 2013-05-28 09:56:20 UTC
Today we have checked this issue with following builds :

X.S 4.0.8(Build 2)
Xamarin.Mac 1.1.55

As per comment 5, now we are able to select all the 'build output' by using 'command + a' Key-bindings.

Hence changing its status to verified.
