Description googlly.element109 2011-09-13 16:01:26 UTC
On OSX Lion with xcode 4.1 with all the default updates applied

1. Open Monodevelop create a new MonoMac solution
2. double-click the MainWindow.xib, in xcode add a button to the window and save
3. back in monodevelop open MainWindow.xib.designer.cs and it has no code only the default header comment.

If I am missing some required action on my part to regenerate the designer code, please forgive my ignorance. If so it is not immediately apparent.

Xibs require creating 'outlets' and 'actions' and connecting your objects to them. How you do this differs between Xcode 3.x and 4.x. MD 2.6 supports Xcode 3.2.x, MD 2.8 supports Xcode 4.x.

The first step I mean Open Monodevelop create a new MonoMac solution is clear. But as for the next one, namely: double-click the MainWindow.xib, in xcode add a button to the window and save - I didn't quite catch what to do. What are my actions here? Thanks,

It's required to have an incomplete parse tree in general. That's why we're switching to roslyn in the first place - and I wouldn't invest too much time in fixing the few mcs places right now.
