Description Yvan Rodrigues 2012-09-30 11:50:47 UTC
I got this error when I tried to "Start debugging". After I got this message, I ran "Start debugging" again and it worked. I haven't seen it since.

/Developer/MonoTouch/usr/bin/mtouch -sdkroot "/Applications/Xcode44.app/Contents/Developer" -
installdev "/Users/yvan/Dropbox/Red Cell Innovation/Projects/City of Guelph Tourism App/Source/Guelph.App.iOS.VisitGuelph/Guelph.App.iOS.VisitGuelph/bin/iPhone/Debug/GuelphAppiOSVisitGuelph.app"

Comment 1 Yvan Rodrigues 2012-09-30 11:52:37 UTC
I should state the obvious -- my bundle identifier wasn't missing.
Comment 2 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2012-10-01 19:20:20 UTC
Yvan, can you attach a test project?

What happens is that the device gave the error code 0xe800004c (= kAMDMissingBundleIdentifierError) when MonoTouch tried to install the app, so we'll need to figure out why the device rejects your app.
Comment 3 Yvan Rodrigues 2012-10-01 19:32:12 UTC
Unfortunately I have nothing to offer -- the error occured when I clicked "Start Debugging". Then I clicked it again, and it worked fine. I have not encountered the error since.

Usually I wouldn't even bother to report a one-off error like this, the the error message specifically asked "please fill a
bug report on bugzilla.xamarin.com", so I did in case it would be useful to someone.
Comment 4 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2012-10-01 19:37:03 UTC
You did right, we need to know when these things happen :)

That said, it'll be impossible to fix unless we can reproduce it, so I'll close this bug report for now. Please reopen if you (or anybody else) run into it again.

I got this error now and I couldn't fix it. In fact, the app was working before and the time when I changed the solution name, it stopped working. The below output is when I install the app in the device. There is no output for simulator and it doesn't worked in simulator either.

/Developer/MonoTouch/usr/bin/mtouch -sdkroot "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer" -installdev "/Users/mikefattori/Projects/Avalanche/Avalanche/bin/iPhone/Debug/Avalanche.app"

I have created a new project, copied the old source files to the new project and its working now.
Comment 8 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2012-12-06 16:51:34 UTC
I can reproduce an installation failure with the provided project.
Comment 10 PJ 2013-11-19 16:44:59 UTC
This bug was targeted for a past milestone, moving to the next non-hotfix active milestone.

*** Bug 10936 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 12 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2015-03-05 08:53:55 UTC
I can't reproduce this anymore, so it probably got fixed some time.
