RESOLVED FIXED

Description Matthias Mailänder 2012-09-19 08:44:28 UTC
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=monodevelop&project=Mono does not build.

In https://github.com/mono/monodevelop/pull/225 I simply removed the listing of the files that configure could not find but this won't fix the build completely. It is still broken at another UnitTest related part (even though --enable-tests is not set):

DebugTests.cs(29,7): error CS0246: The type or namespace name `UnitTests' could not be found. Are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?
DebugTests.cs(49,38): error CS0115: `MonoDevelop.Debugger.Tests.DebugTests.Setup()' is marked as an override but no suitable method found to override
EvaluationTests.cs(42,38): error CS0115: `MonoDevelop.Debugger.Tests.EvaluationTests.Setup()' is marked as an override but no suitable method found to override
EvaluationTests.cs(49,38): error CS0115: `MonoDevelop.Debugger.Tests.EvaluationTests.TearDown()' is marked as an override but no suitable method found to override
StackFrameTests.cs(42,38): error CS0115: `MonoDevelop.Debugger.Tests.StackFrameTests.Setup()' is marked as an override but no suitable method found to override
StackFrameTests.cs(49,38): error CS0115: `MonoDevelop.Debugger.Tests.StackFrameTests.TearDown()' is marked as an override but no suitable method found to override

Same here on Ubuntu 12.04 AMD64 with the latest source release of MonoDevelop 3.0.4.7 from:
http://download.mono-project.com/sources/monodevelop/monodevelop-3.0.4.7.tar.bz2

"./configure --prefix=`pkg-config --variable=prefix mono`" yields "config.status: error: cannot find input file: `tests/UnitTests/Makefile.in'"
Comment 2 Matthias Mailänder 2012-10-03 05:28:06 UTC
This must be a problem in your tar-ball creation as in https://github.com/mono/monodevelop/tree/monodevelop-3.0.4.7/main/tests the makefiles do exist.

I have the same problem on debian [runningcommand: ./configure]:

error: cannot find input file: `tests/UnitTests/Makefile.in'

I have tried various versions:

monodevelop-3.0.1
monodevelop-3.0.4.6
monodevelop-3.0.4.7

The result is the same - error...

This seems to be a distribution problem since switching to xbuild?
Comment 5 Jeffrey Stedfast 2012-10-24 18:21:26 UTC
this has been fixed in the upcoming 3.0.5
Comment 6 Matthias Mailänder 2012-11-07 05:45:43 UTC
I submitted

https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/140105
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/140109

which addresses this to make it compile again.
