Description Steve Williams 2012-09-18 08:20:54 UTC
I see this was a feature add in a recent version of Mono for Android. It is also quite annoying that every string written by System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine() is now duplicated in the Visual Studio Output window as a adb log with the adb timestamp prefix.

The only way I know around this is to use Android.Util.Log explicitly, however this breaks cross-platform compatibility.

Can we have an option to hide one or the other? To show Debug.WriteLine or Android.Util.Log output, but not both? Or that Debug.WriteLine redirects to Android.Util.Log without also appearing itself in the VS Output window?

We will consider this feature request.
