RESOLVED NOT_ON_ROADMAP

Description David Jeske 2012-09-12 14:14:54 UTC
When opening a solution, there is a checkbox "close current workspace" which can be unchecked to open more than one solution simultaneously. However, it's not possible to actually RUN both solutions simultaneously when opened this way.

Monodevelop needs to either launch another instance of itself for the second solution (making them totally independent), or build better support for opening multiple solutions in the same app, so one can actually run both solutions. (preferably putting each solution in a separate document window like other apps and mac apps)

We don't have plans to support running multiple solutions (or projects) at the same time in a single instance of the IDE. If you really need that, you will have to start a new instance.
