Description of Problem:
When debugging, if there is no emulator running, a dialog is popped up for choosing emulator, but when click "Start Emulator" button, sometimes the emulator can not be started directly.
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Make sure no emulator is running. Making some change to a emulator using AVD Manager
2. Do debug.
More than often, the emulator can not be started directly from the "Select Device" dialog. Instead, it has to be started from AVD manager but the name of the emulator is not recognized by MonoDevelop. When click "Start Emulator" With no error message or whatsoever, just fail silently which is very confusing.
The emulator starts successfully
How often does this happen?
MonoDevelop 126.96.36.199/188.8.131.52, MFA 4.2.5 Beta
It seems that there are quite some bugs with MFA giving the feeling that the product is not polished enough and the usability of it are not particularly good.
can you give me some more information about which version of Xamarin Studio you are running? You posted something above, but I don't quite understand - it looks like you said MonoDevelop 184.108.40.206 ? Can you copy the details from About Xamarin Studio | Details and add them here please.
Also, what platform are you running on?
Woo, it's been a long time. 2 years. You guys are certainly taking your time. As for your question, I don't know, and I don't care anymore since I don't use the Google emulator anymore. I use your Xamarin Android Player, or simply Genymotin. I have to admit, so far, Genymotion still has the edge.
Sorry about that, I'm fairly new to Xamarin and the bug was just assigned to me today. I didn't check the original date, I thought you were using a really only version somehow :)
I hope that you're having success with Android Player.
