Sometimes Monodevelop can properly provide code hints, other times it cannot.

I have been unable to determine what the conditions are for when it fails to provide a hint, as it appears random.  Occasionally it works on otherwise empty lines, sometimes it does not.

In the screenshot of where it doesn't work, when I went to take the screenshot I managed to hit tab or enter, or something and Monodevelop automatically filled in "mousePosition" despite there having been no code hints available, which I had to undo in order to make the screenshot (and it still had no hints).

The only .NET language for which upstream MonoDevelop has code completion is C#.

Unity ships a old, modified version of MonoDevelop that adds a UnityScript ("JavaScript") code completion engine, but from user reports, it does not seem to be very reliable. Please report the issue to Unity.
