RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 11057

Description Neal 2012-08-07 10:01:25 UTC
Hello,

I really like the designer but at times I just want to quickly get into the source XML. Having to wait for the designer is sometimes unnecessary. Please consider an option in the IDE as to what the initial/default view should be of the designer when opened. Just like in ASP.NET web pages we can set the default view (tab) - this would be handy to have.

P.S. Can't find user voice on your new web site to make a suggestion so I'm sending via here.

Also, while I'm typing away here - separate issue, the designer seems to lock files so you can't rename them in VS.NET or even delete them if desired as happened yesterday - FYI.

This is an older request, but I'm going to flag this as the duplicate since the other bug has more in it.

If you are still seeing problems with files being locked in VS.NET can you please file that as a separate bug. Thanks!
