I'm planing to use Apache Thrift as compact data transposr solution. Csharp compiled file with MonoTouch target, except for src/Transport/THttpHandler.cs file - it needs for IHttpHandler interface, HttpContext type declarations. So HTTP as transport protocol is not available, I should only raw tcp connection.
Any chance to build C# version of Thrift using HttpContext and others?
A already read older response at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5909181/system-web-functionality-in-mono-missing
MonoTouch does not ship with "server-side" assemblies. This includes the System.Web.dll assembly (normally used for ASP.NET).
The link from stackoverflow.com is a similar case where we copied some useful (from the client-side) code, HttpUtility, from System.Web.dll into System.Web.Services.dll (preserving source but not binrary compatibility with the desktop version of the framework).
It seems that Apache Thrift depends on this assembly for "client" code. I'm not sure how deep is this requirement but a general "trick" (used in other cases) is to copy the types you need, from Mono , into your own application (or library). IOW a bit like what was done for HttpUtility but in your own code (not MonoTouch).
