RESOLVED FIXED

Description Richard Brown 2017-12-01 09:17:16 UTC
As reported here:  https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/20639/broadcastreceiverattribute-looks-to-be-missing-description-property

The BroadcastReveicerAttribute is missing the Description property used when registering a Device Administrator receiver.
Comment 1 Jon Douglas [MSFT] 2017-12-01 18:11:24 UTC
It looks like this is indeed missing from BroadcastReceiverAttribute.

The Android Documentation do not list this item:

https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/receiver-element.html

However it looks like it's been there since API 8:

    <declare-styleable name="AndroidManifestReceiver" parent="AndroidManifestApplication">
        <!-- Required name of the class implementing the receiver, deriving from
            {@link android.content.BroadcastReceiver}.  This is a fully
            qualified class name (for example, com.mycompany.myapp.MyReceiver); as a
            short-hand if the first character of the class
            is a period then it is appended to your package name. -->
        <attr name="name" />
        <attr name="label" />
        <attr name="description" />
        <attr name="icon" />
        <attr name="permission" />
        <attr name="process" />
        <!-- Specify whether the receiver is enabled or not (that is, can be instantiated by the system).
             It can also be specified for an application as a whole, in which case a value of "false"
             will override any component specific values (a value of "true" will not override the
             component specific values). -->
        <attr name="enabled" />
        <attr name="exported" />

vs API 7:

    <declare-styleable name="AndroidManifestReceiver" parent="AndroidManifestApplication">
        <attr name="name" />
        <attr name="label" />
        <attr name="icon" />
        <attr name="permission" />
        <attr name="process" />
        <!-- Specify whether the receiver is enabled or not (that is, can be instantiated by the system).
             It can also be specified for an application as a whole, in which case a value of "false"
             will override any component specific values (a value of "true" will not override the
             component specific values). -->
        <attr name="enabled" />
        <attr name="exported" />
    </declare-styleable>

This explains that it was added at the same time that DeviceAdminReceiver was added:

https://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/admin/DeviceAdminReceiver.html

I do believe we are missing:

Apologies, I meant I do believe we are also missing the following as of API 26:

I have bumped up the priority due to the nature of a binding.
