Description Stone Chen 2017-11-27 08:55:50 UTC
I am help one customer to file a bug for Xamarin.Forms

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Xamarin,

I'm working on a Forms project with my company and have run into a bug in Xamarin.Forms when trying to upgrade to the latest. Here's the info:

Xamarin Forms Exception

System.NullReferenceException

System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Mono_UnhandledException_internal() in
System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Mono_UnhandledException(System.NullReferenceException ex) in
object.72327b52-399e-42a4-88da-0b487e7ae6cf( arg0,  arg1) in
Xamarin.Forms.Platform.Android.AppCompat.Platform.() in D:\agent\_work\1\s\Xamarin.Forms.Platform.Android\AppCompat\Platform.cs:256
Java.Lang.Thread.RunnableImplementor.Run() in
Java.Lang.IRunnableInvoker.n_Run(System.IntPtr jnienv, System.IntPtr native__this) in
object.72327b52-399e-42a4-88da-0b487e7ae6cf( arg0,  arg1) in

It looks like a dispose() is happening when it shouldn't, perhaps? In any case, it would be great to get this resolved so we can get on the latest and potentially have better performance.

I think that should be all the info required, as it's down to the line number. Please let me know when you're expecting to have a fix.

The app is never used in an emulator, so this is not the issue. The exception occurred on a tablet when upgrading Xamarin.Forms and was not present in previous versions of Forms.

It would be very helpful if you could give us a reproduction or at least a description of the scenario in which this actually occurs.

Let me check if customer can provide more details or not.

As we're making a shift to GitHub issues, as part of upkeep on outstanding needinfo issues, I'm going to mark this as not reproducible until we can get a reproduction for further investigation. Please reopen this if you manage to obtain one from the customer, or alternatively open a new issue on GitHub (https://github.com/xamarin/Xamarin.Forms/issues). Thanks.
