If I specify "Don't link" it builds but not with "Link Framework SDK only"
Comment 2 Vincent Dondain [MSFT] 2017-08-15 17:08:57 UTC
Please include your full build logs, a test case (to reproduce) and all version information.

To get full build logs just set the log verbosity to diagnostic at the following locations:
- On Visual Studio for Mac: Preferences > Projects > Build
- On Visual Studio for Windows: Tools > Options > Projects and Solutions > Build and Run

On Visual Studio Windows you also want to add `-v -v -v -v` to the mtouch additional arguments by right-clicking the project in the solution explorer and selecting `Properties`.
Note: this is done automatically on Visual Studio for Mac when the log verbosity is set to diagnostic.

Easiest way to get exact version information:
- On Visual Studio for Mac: "Visual Studio" menu, "About Visual Studio" item, "Show Details" button.
- On Visual Studio for Windows: "Help menu", "About Microsoft Visual Studio" item.
Then copy/paste the version information (you can use the "Copy Information" button).

Comment 7 Vincent Dondain [MSFT] 2017-08-15 17:34:30 UTC
@yuri yes I didn't expect anything in the IDE/designer/inspector logs however your **build logs** can tell us more about your setup. I mentioned in my previous comment how to get them: "full build logs". It's very important for us that you set the maximum verbosity so we get as much information as possible (I also detailed that in my previous comment).

However the all time best way for us to investigate an issue is a small test case that shows the problem so we can try to reproduce locally.

Thanks.
Comment 8 Brendan Zagaeski (Xamarin Team, assistant) 2017-08-15 19:53:25 UTC
## Cross-referencing note for the Xamarin team

This appears to match the stack trace of Bug 58784, so both reports might be about the same underlying issue. Bug 58784 now does include some diagnostic build logs (no test case at the moment).
Comment 9 Sebastien Pouliot 2017-08-15 19:54:49 UTC
Thanks for the report and extra information!
