Our sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed on this bug
tracker over the years. Thanks also for your understanding as we
make these adjustments and improvements for the future.
Please create a new report on
Developer Community or GitHub with
your current version information, steps to reproduce, and relevant error
messages or log files if you are hitting an issue that looks similar to
this resolved bug and you do not yet see a matching new report.
Repro is easy:
On an HttpClient setup with AndroidClientHandler, set HttpTimeout (or a cancellationToken with a timeout less than 5s) then SendAsync to localhost:someport (with no listner).
It seems AndroidClientHandler never calls setConnectTimeout on HttpURLConnection
This is fixed in the master branch as of 30 may with 2 new properties.
When will it be available on xamarin stable ?
In fact, the AndroidClientHandler should obey the cancellationToken's cancel event.
Currently, while connecting, it does not.
The implementation does not work.
Please provide a minimal test case in the form of a project that can demonstrate the problem with reproduction steps. We can then CONFIRM the behavior and move it further up the line to our engineering team.
Also if you are describing other items that AndroidClientHandler should abide to, please open up new Bugs on these items. This helps self-contain the issues at hand so releases are more clear as to what fixes made what release.
Thanks for the report!
It is fixed in latest xamarin version
