Description Adam Patridge [MSFT] 2017-08-07 15:15:12 UTC
## Steps

0. Have recently updated Xcode to v8.3.3 (but not done the first-run installation of extras)
1. Launch a new VS2017 15.2 (26430.16) install
2. Spin up single view iOS iPhone app
3. Connect to Mac updated in step 0
4. Hit Play on Simulator (iPhone 7 Plus iOS 10.3, in my case)

## Expected

Should have launched the test app on the appropriate Simulator on the remote Mac machine.

Or, at the very least, told me something was wrong with my Xcode install and allowed me to fix it.

## Actual

Visual Studio just got stuck at this "Launching Application for debugging" message and couldn't be quit (just the spinning blue ring cursor). Needed to end Visual Studio in the Task Manager.

Once I ran Xcode and let it do its extra install steps, it was fine. Unfortunately, this means I cannot reproduce this issue again on this machine going forward.

I was able to get by the initial hang once (and on to a new "Info.plist not found" issue), but now that hang keeps happening, so this may be unrelated to the Xcode state.

Thanks so much for taking the time to submit this report!

I can confirm using the latest Visual Studio 2017 Preview version 15.3 I am able to reproduce this issue. I believe VS for Mac shows the warning if you did not accept the XCode terms before debugging an app

Marking this report as CONFIRMED.

Remote Xcode license acceptance and Xcode tools updating logic has been introduced and is ready to be tested and included in the next 15.5 release.
For this reason I mark this issue as Resolved
