Description jimrandomh 2012-06-25 16:27:38 UTC
After updating to Mono 2.11.1, MonoDevelop 3.0.3.2 fails to start, outputting

Could not load mono_get_runtime_build_info
Mon Jun 25 16:20:07 xave monodevelop[4901] <Error>: kCGErrorInvalidConnection: CGSGetCurrentCursorLocation: Invalid connection
Mon Jun 25 16:20:07 xave monodevelop[4901] <Error>: kCGErrorFailure: Set a breakpoint @ CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are logged.

Mon Jun 25 16:20:07 xave monodevelop[4901] <Error>: kCGErrorInvalidConnection: CGSGetCurrentCursorLocation: Invalid connection

Reinstalling Mono and MonoDevelop does not appear to help.

MonoDevelop's new launcher entrypoint in MD 3.0.3 took a dependency on the symbol mono_get_runtime_build_info, which accessible because provate symbols were visible in Mono 2.10.x. The accessibility issue was fixed in Mono 2.11, which broke MD. The symbol has been made public in Mono master, as MD needs it and there's no good reason to keep it private. So it'll be fixed in the next Mono alpha.
