RESOLVED FIXED

Description Sebastien Pouliot 2017-07-25 03:09:14 UTC
PR https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-macios/pull/2361 (beta 4 bump) is disabling watchOS until fixed.
Comment 2 Sebastien Pouliot 2017-07-25 18:09:16 UTC
watchOS build re-enabled, but tests remains disabled
https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-macios/pull/2371
Comment 3 GouriKumari 2017-07-25 22:09:18 UTC
I could reproduce the issue with XI 10.99.1.27. watchOS app launch timed out.

PR that makes the tests run again: https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-macios/pull/2462

I still need to figure out where the bug is (and file with Apple if needed), since according to comment #3 this happens outside the tests too.
Comment 6 Sebastien Pouliot 2017-08-09 22:16:45 UTC
I'm pretty sure comment #3 is not the same issue.

> error HE0038: Failed to launch the app 'com.companyname.testtvOSWatchApap1.watchkitapp' on the device 'watchOS 4.0 (15R5331f) - Apple Watch Series 2 - 38mm': Watch app launch timed out.

^ that looks like a random issues the bots are having -> https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=55719

The original problem was not related to starting apps, the bots just hung because Carousel crashed.
Comment 7 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2017-08-10 08:05:49 UTC
It seems I accidentally continued testing with beta 4, even after beta 5 was released. I can't reproduce the problem anymore when actually testing with beta 5, so it seems Apple fixed this on their side.

PR to return to original behavior: https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-macios/pull/2473
Comment 9 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2017-08-23 13:55:56 UTC
It happened again once in beta 6: https://jenkins.mono-project.com/job/xamarin-macios-pr-builder/4689/, so watchOS tests were disabled.

However, immediately enabling the watchOS tests didn't reproduce the problem again (https://jenkins.mono-project.com/job/xamarin-macios-pr-builder/4706/), so it might be bot-specific.
