Hello,

I am trying to run the Xamarin.Forms app on Mac agent, but even with tryied with many ways, I can not able to connect to it.

My OS is Window 10, VS 2017 preview edition, Xamarin for VS is 4.6.0.560 version, Xamarin.iOS SDK is 10.11.0.126.

And Mac machine which I am trying to connect has macOS Sierra 10.12.5.

I am also connecting verbose log collected on Windows machine and SSH log collected from mac machine.

Please help me out how to fix this.

Looking forward to hear you soon.

Thanks,
Parthiv

Wanted to let you know that, I have tried everything from the given link for troubleshooting this issue.

Also wanted to update that, when I do the login for connecting to Mac agent, it goes into the "Connect to Server..." mode and never comes back.

Hi Parthiv,

As I can see in the logs, the connection is established successfully against the Mac, at least the SSH connection and authentication. Unfortunately, the log appears to be truncated so I can't see all the details. However, I can see that the mono probing logic that we use to find mono on the Mac is failing for most of the locations. Also, we need mono 64 bits to be able successfully launch iOS Apps on the Mac.

This should happen when the Mac machine has not all the pre requisites. Did you install all the pre requisites on the Mac?

We need at least Mono and Xamarin iOS. One way to not worry about all the things to install but to install just one thing, is by installing Xamarin Studio or Visual Studio for Mac, which will install the pre requisites by you. Please see this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/mac/installation

If you still have connection issues after installing the mentioned pre requisites, please let us know and attach the Ide.log again, hopefully not truncated.

Thanks.

Hi,
Do you have any extra information or update about this problem?
Thanks

Hi,
Given that the logs suggests that a valid Mono installation is missing, I assume that the Mac is not correctly configured.
Please ensure to have Xcode, Xamarin iOS and Mono installed on the Mac. To install Xamarin iOS and Mono, you can install VS for Mac, ensuring to install the same version as the Xamarin Visual Studio on Windows. See: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/mac/installation

If after having the Mac correctly installed you still face connection issues, please feel free to re open the bug and attach Ide logs, to analyze in depth.

Thanks
