HostAddress works until Marshmallow but on a Samsung S7 Edge with Nougat HostAddress return is empty for IPv4 addresses while ToString of the InetAddress object contains the IPv4 address.
In a native java app calling the underlying getHostAddress() function returns the IPv4 address.
Echoing Reinhard's statement. This doesn't seem to be related to a particular phone, as it's reproduced on my Nougat device (7.1.1) as well.
Attached is sample code written in both C# & Java. c# Inet4Address.GetAddress() returns null, but Java Inet4Address.getAddress() returns what is expected.
