Description Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2017-04-07 07:06:58 UTC
Enabling device-specific builds for extensions doesn't work.

Sample output from log:

Target "_ComputeTargetArchitectures" in file "/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/External/xbuild/Xamarin/iOS/Xamarin.iOS.Common.targets":
  Task "ParseDeviceSpecificBuildInformation" skipped, due to false condition; ('$(DeviceSpecificBuild)' == 'true' And '$(TargetiOSDevice)' != '' And '$(_CanDeployToDeviceOrSimulator)' == 'true') was evaluated as ('true' == 'true' And '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
  <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
  <plist version="1.0">
  <dict>
  	<key>device</key>
  	<dict>
  		<key>architecture</key>
  		<string>ARMv6, ARMv7, ARMv7s, ARM64</string>
  		<key>model</key>
  		<string>iPhone8,1</string>
  		<key>os</key>
  		<string>iOS</string>
  		<key>os-version</key>
  		<string>10.2.1</string>
  	</dict>
  </dict>
  </plist>
  ' != '' And 'False' == 'true').

It's skipped because '_CanDeployToDeviceOrSimulator' is 'False'.

this happened when building ios10/IceCreamBuilder/IceCreamBuilder.sln from the xamarin/ios-samples repository.
