The docs on Xamarin's web site show how to create an ImageButton for Android that uses the pressed, focused, and default images, by speecifying the information in a separate xml file and referencing that as a drawable resource (@drawable/MyNewImageButton) in the GUI designer. The functionality works fine when building and running the app. However, the problem is that the interface builder (both the plugin for Visual Studio and the xamarin interface builder) doesn't show anything on the screen when designing. The button is a 0 x 0 in the interface builder.
It seems that the problem is that the interface builder doesn't seem to recurse the specified xml file and check the size of the default image in it.
This issue can be seen with the top button in the FormsWidgetsTutorial.axml that is part of the monodroid-samples ApiDemo solution.
