Comment 1 Ben Buttigieg 2017-03-29 11:50:49 UTC
Setting a value of "20dp" or any value which does not cast to a double causes application to be blank on Android

e.g.
<Label Text="Test" FontSize="foo"/>

On all other platforms a suitable exception is raised either at compile time if Xaml Compilation is enabled or at runtime when the page is displayed.

This defect was reproduced on the latest veresion of Forms and versions going back at least as far as 2.2.0.45

Happens on the nightly as well. Just modifying the label on the MainPage.xaml of a new project does the trick.
Comment 3 Chris King 2017-03-29 18:53:21 UTC
Visual Studio is not breaking when the exception is thrown (even when breaking for all exceptions is checked and just-my-code is disabled). The exception is being throw here:

https://github.com/xamarin/Xamarin.Forms/blob/e3d213cbe7e9799ae454c7d1d9f56183f01c3317/Xamarin.Forms.Core/FontSizeConverter.cs#L31

If you put a breakpoint there then step forward the VS does break on the exception.. so looks like a Xamarin VS debugger bug.

Forms Exception

I'm getting an InvalidOperationException (attached) and the description looks ok, and the stack trace also looks ok. Maybe you have My Code enabled?
