Description Novak Savic 2017-03-27 06:18:53 UTC
I noticed that Device.Idiom gives "Desktop" instead of "Tablet" value on Windows 10.0.10240.16725 on HP ElitePad 900 tablet.

One thing to mention is that on this device full version of Windows is running.

I believe this is the code in question which is causing the Desktop idiom to be returned:

https://github.com/xamarin/Xamarin.Forms/blob/master/Xamarin.Forms.Platform.WinRT.Tablet/Forms.cs#L48-L61

I'll set this confirmed for now but it'll require a follow-up. If it's possible, I think that it might be worth seeing if we can take advantage of the UIViewSettings (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/uwp/api/Windows.UI.ViewManagement.UIViewSettings) API in any way.

Novak, Paul is correct that we simply report what platform UAP reports to us so I'd pass the buck to them.
