PNGs are not optimized when building Xamarin.iOS project using VSTS, even though the option is selected in Properties for the project. Can be worked around as below, but suggests that MSBuild is not reading all csproj properties.
Got this to work by placing the slightly modified /p:OptimizePNGs=true in Xamarin.iOS Build step --> Advanced --> Arguments.
This does seem to suggest that the build agent is not recognising the setting in the prject to start with...?
Yes, it would seem so. I would be curious to know if just building via the command line on your local machine shows the same issue. In either case, it would be worth getting a bug report filed about that MSBuild property in the .csproj file not being recognized when building from VSTS (and from the command line locally if that turns out to be the case).
What version is this happening in? I assume 4.3.0.x?
Sorry which version of which part? I've got the various logs so can find the numbers for the right part.
This should be already fixed as part of the revamped property pages work we did in 15.2. Please let us know if you can still reproduce the issue using a recent release. thanks
