Description Michael Thwaite 2012-05-28 17:06:55 UTC
After working with a project for some time, after editing the .aspx file and compiling the designer.cs will be either empty or may be missing some controls. Editing and re-saving the .aspx file (add a space, remove the space, hit Command-S) will often resolve the problem however, as you continue it may degrade until this no longer works. Ultimately, the designer.cs file will no longer stay up to date.

Verified with two different projects on two different Mac OS machines (10.7.4).

Verified re-creating the .aspx from scratch - problem still occurs.

Reverting to MonoDevelop 2.8.x resolves the issue.

Mike, this sounds like a regression in the type system that has seriously impacted ASP.NET support.

I've tried again on a different machine; same issue however, it reminded me that I often see an exception when I enter the first '<' for a tag in the aspx editor. Something not starting ok. After that initial exception I don't see any code completion working.

and ASP.NET project builds and run successfully.
