When trying to use version 22.214.171.124 of the Alexa Voice Service for Xamarin https://www.nuget.org/packages/Xamarin.AlexaVoiceService/ in an Xamarin.iOS project I get the following error:
/Users/<myuser>/Developer/PocAVS/iOS/MTOUCH: Error MT2002: Failed to resolve assembly: 'Mono.Android, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=84e04ff9cfb79065' (MT2002) (PocAVS.iOS)
When inspecting the nuget package and looking at what is in lib/Xamarin.iOS10/Xamarin.AlexaVoiceService.dll
I can see:
using Android.Runtime; <--- What?
[assembly: AssemblyVersion ("126.96.36.199")]
[assembly: ResourceDesigner ("Xamarin.Avs.Resource", IsApplication = false)]
[assembly: Debuggable (DebuggableAttribute.DebuggingModes.IgnoreSymbolStoreSequencePoints)]
[assembly: AssemblyCompany ("")]
[assembly: AssemblyConfiguration ("")]
[assembly: AssemblyCopyright ("Copyright © 2016")]
[assembly: AssemblyDescription ("")]
[assembly: AssemblyFileVersion ("188.8.131.52")]
[assembly: AssemblyProduct ("AvsSharp.Android")]
[assembly: AssemblyTitle ("AvsSharp.Android")]
[assembly: AssemblyTrademark ("")]
[assembly: RuntimeCompatibility (WrapNonExceptionThrows = true)]
[assembly: ComVisible (false)]
[assembly: TargetFramework ("MonoAndroid,Version=v4.0.3", FrameworkDisplayName = "")]
I have upload a simple project so you can have a look here https://github.com/b099l3/PocAVS but i suspect I have either configured the package wrong or the wrong dll is being added to Xamarin.iOS10 folder in the nuget package.
I'm experiencing the same issue. It works fine on Android, but as the original poster points out it fails building for iOS because it requires an Android assembly.
Due to licensing issues beyond our control we are no longer able provide this package.
