in ubuntu 16.04 mono package fails to compile 

This is my configure output

        olive source:

i got these error

The current mono stable version is 4.6.2, you are trying to compile 2.10.9. Get a newer version from here:
http://www.mono-project.com/download/

Please can you give me a valid reason why i am getting this error on ubuntu 16.04 only.same error coming for all mono version except mono 4

Because mono 2.10 was released in 2012, and ubuntu 16 in 2015. Old mono releases are not guaranteed to work on platforms released years after their release.
