When I try to compile the sample firebase analytics project an error appears.

Are you still having issues with the latest version of Xamarin Build Download and Firebase.Analytics?  Update the packages from the in the packages/NuGet folder.  

The build process should be downloading and extracting the files to that path.  Do you see anything in you build output above this that would explain why that process is not working?

Check ~/Library/Caches/XamarinBuildDownload to see if GSymblU-1.1.2.tgz exists.

I believe the latest version of Xamarin Build Download will also extract to that folder.

Not able to reproduce and submitter has not responded to my question.
