RESOLVED FIXED

Description Alan McGovern 2012-05-09 06:37:58 UTC
1) Create a project which uses remoting.
2) Get a reference to a remoted object
3) Try to invoke a property on it

Result:

> this.scene
{System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.TransparentProxy}
> this.scene.ID
Unknown member: ID

Invocation fails and i cannot see the value of the property.

Can you attach a sample application?

partial fix

This is going to require changes to the runtime...

I've got a fix in place that allows me to get access to the variable type but I can't invoke the getter method on the object because it isn't of the correct type.
Comment 3 Zoltan Varga 2012-05-11 17:56:14 UTC
What exactly is the runtime problem here ?
Comment 4 Zoltan Varga 2012-05-20 09:33:49 UTC
Fixed the runtime part, now sdb can invoke remote methods in TransparentProxies. The only problem would be finding out the proxied type.
Comment 5 Zoltan Varga 2012-05-20 09:46:23 UTC
We now return the proxied type for ObjectMirror.Type, so things should work automatically.
Comment 6 Zoltan Varga 2012-05-21 21:14:59 UTC
This works now without any changes to md.
