Installation of the following Android updates to a very basic new cross-platform solution fails:
The errors have the form:
Attempting to resolve dependencies for package 'Xamarin.Android.Support.*.*.*.25.0.1-rc1' with DependencyBehavior 'Lowest'
One or more unresolved package dependency constraints detected in the existing packages.config file. All dependency constraints must be resolved to add or update packages. If these packages are being updated this message may be ignored, if not the following error(s) may be blocking the current package operation: 'Xamarin.Android.*.*.* 23.3.0'
Unable to resolve dependencies. 'Xamarin.Android.Support.*.*.* 25.0.1-rc1' is not compatible with 'Xamarin.Android.Support.v7.AppCompat 23.3.0 constraint: Xamarin.Android.Support.*.*.* (= 23.3.0)'.
Hi, this is an issue with the update of xamarin-forms.
Please see the instruction to fix it here: https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/xamarin-forms/troubleshooting/
I'm resolving it tentatively as Resolved/Answered.
That said, if you're still facing this issue with current bits, please feel
free to reopen the bug.
To clarify, we think that you were using some preview templates (one of the early alpha previews for XVS 4.3) including using project.json instead of packages.config as the NuGet Packages support.
That was changed in the latest Alpha previews and this issue shouldn't be present anymore.
