Unable to connect

Hi,

I have installed Xamarin Workbooks. After that it installed the new Update Version 1.0...

If I open a sample "App Basics", the Android Emulator will be lunched as well. ok

But at the bottom I see "Unable to connect" and if I click on Reconnect, it tried but nothing happend and is still "Unable to connect".

After seein Workbooks on "Connect!2016" I wanted to test it, but it seems not possible.

I have atteched my log file, which you can find many exception.

I have latest Windows 10  with latest updates and hotfixes, no problem. I am developer, installed VS 2015 and are trying Xamarin...

Hi @Payk I have checked this issue with XamarinInteractive-1.0.0.19 and I am successfully able to run workbook sample "AndroidAppBasics".

Could you please provide your full environment info so that we can check with the same environment at our end.

Of Course:

- Windows 10 Enterprise, 64-bit
- with latest updates
- 32GB RAM
- Many HDD
- Office 365 (2016)
- Visual Studio 2015 Professional (full installation)
- I am working on xamarin as well and it works with my environment well

Hi @Payk I have checked this issue again with XamarinInteractive-1.0.0.21 and nota ble to reproduce, I am successfully able to run workbook sample "AndroidAppBasics" without facing any issue. Please have a look on screencast below.

As I can see in the log details its seems that there is something wrong with your android emulator:-

>>"Xamarin.Interactive.UserPresentableException: Unable to start Android emulator.
Additional Details: Try starting a compatible Android emulator before connecting this workbook. ---> MonoDevelop.MonoDroid.EmulatorStartUpException: The emulator exited unexpectedly. Please check the emulator settings."

Could you please try once with installing google emulator, I hope that will resolve you issue.

The emulator works very well. I can deploy and run created app with xamarin. and have no problem.

as I mentioned before (please see my first post at top) the emulator is lunched. it works well.

it seems that the agents doesn't work: The workbook can not connect to its agent on the emulator !!

are you from xamarin ?

Hi Payk. Is it an x86 emulator? ARM emulators are not supported. Judging by the name, I'm guessing AVD_GalaxyNexus_ToolsForApacheCordova is ARM, but you should double-check.

Also, what version of Android is the emulator running?
