Description Frank A. Krueger 2016-11-14 21:10:33 UTC
When trying to build my app I get:

/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/External/xbuild/Xamarin/Mac/Xamarin.Mac.Common.targets: error : Bundle Resource 'Facades/System.Private.CoreLib.InteropServices.dll' not found on disk (should be at '/Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.Mac.framework/Versions/Current/lib/mono/Xamarin.Mac/Facades/System.Private.CoreLib.InteropServices.dll')
/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/External/xbuild/Xamarin/Mac/Xamarin.Mac.Common.targets: error : Bundle Resource 'Facades/System.Private.CoreLib.Threading.dll' not found on disk (should be at '/Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.Mac.framework/Versions/Current/lib/mono/Xamarin.Mac/Facades/System.Private.CoreLib.Threading.dll')

My best guess is that this is because I reference Microsoft.CodeAnalysis 2.0.0-beta5.

So I talked to the runtime guys, and they said:

System.Private.* facades are coreclr specific, a library shouldn't depend on it.

From what I can tell, neither XM nor XI ship those facades, nor are they built by mono by default.

Please feel free to reopen if my analysis is incorrect.

Just FYI, we are digging into why "Microsoft.CodeAnalysis nuget depending on CoreCLR private assemblies" and will update this bug anyway.
Comment 3 Frank A. Krueger 2016-11-17 17:40:30 UTC
I filed a Roslyn bug: https://github.com/dotnet/roslyn/issues/15321

Gosh I can't keep all these assemblies straight...
Comment 4 Frank A. Krueger 2016-11-21 21:10:35 UTC
I have verified with the Roslyn team that they don't have a ref. I'm rebuilding the project file from scratch to see what's going on.
