I think the following code should be work:

var v = new UIView();
v.BackgroundColor = Color.BlanchedAlmond();
UITableViewCell.Appearance.SelectedBackgroundView = v;

But I couldn't call that SelectedBackgroundView.
See the attached screenshot.

(I'm afraid if it's just a newbie mistake.)

For various reasons not every property is supported by UIAppearance. E.g.

> @property (nonatomic) UITableViewCellFocusStyle       focusStyle NS_AVAILABLE_IOS(9_0) UI_APPEARANCE_SELECTOR;

is supported, see the `UI_APPEARANCE_SELECTOR` decoration (from Apple's header files). While the one you're looking for

> @property (nonatomic, strong, nullable) UIView *selectedBackgroundView;

lacks the decoration.
