Description Matthew C. Tedder 2012-04-24 23:28:12 UTC
While trying to ./configure on CentOS 6.2, I get the message:

configure: error: Please install mono version 2.8 or later to install MonoDevelop.
Please see http://www.mono-project.org/ to download latest mono sources or packages
[root@localhost monodevelop-2.8.8.4]#

But I had already successfully compiled and install mono from that source. Entering "mono --version" says:

Mono JIT compiler version 2.10.2 (tarball Mon Apr 23 01:02:50 EDT 2012)

(Also, I see mention on message boards that the same problem occurs on CentOS 6.0 and 6.1. No solutions are provided. No responses on IRC or as of yet on the mailing list, either..)

You probably just need to set your PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable to the prefix where you installed Mono.
