Using Mono for Android from wrench, I don't see the Mono.Android.Support.v4.dll in the packages list (see image: http://screencast.com/t/92WlpN9r95) but it does exist in the following location:

Comment 1 Duncan Mak 2012-04-24 23:03:15 UTC
If this is indeed fixed by commit d0560b93, please mark it as RESOLVED.
Comment 2 Chris Hardy [MSFT] 2012-04-25 05:14:47 UTC
The commit in d0560b93 was just updating a sample so this issue is not fixed.
Comment 3 Andreia Gaita 2012-04-25 13:16:03 UTC
This should be fixed in monodevelop/d0218d6d
Comment 4 Chris Hardy [MSFT] 2012-05-03 16:10:55 UTC
I can't see System.Data.Services.Client.dll or System.EnterpriseServices.dll in the packages file either.

This didn't make it into 4.2 Alpha I installed May 10th, is there a work around for this?

I'd actually like to test it, but this kinda puts a wrench into the works.
Comment 10 kenny goers 2012-05-10 21:47:58 UTC
Manually copying one of the Mono.Android.Support.v4.dll/.mdb combinations that I can see, but MonoDevelop can't doesn't work as a work around. The object browser can open it and see the Android.Support name space, but it doesn't register with the runtime...

Blah.
Comment 11 kenny goers 2012-05-10 21:55:30 UTC
Well that will teach me to read the documentation I couldn't access the 4.2 release notes), it seems you no longer need to add a reference to the support library?

Once I removed the referenced to the support library I could use them again?

I'm very confused...
Comment 12 Jonathan Pryor 2012-05-11 10:36:13 UTC
This will not only require a new Mono for Android install, it will also require an updated MonoDevelop. MonoDevelop 3.0 should include the necessary changes.

Regarding the 4.2.0 release notes, those will be public when 4.2.0 is actually released. The current alpha/4.2.0 release was supposed to be 4.1.2, which does have public release notes:

http://docs.xamarin.com/android/Releases/Mono_For_Android_4/Mono_for_Android_4.1.2
Comment 13 kenny goers 2012-05-11 10:40:46 UTC
That would be fine, but I'm running all the latest Alphas suggested by the updater. I did finally get manually adding the Support dll to work after adding and quitting MonoDevelop a few times, the syntax parser was VERY confused.
Comment 14 Mikayla Hutchinson [MSFT] 2012-05-11 16:04:45 UTC
I have verified that the commit Andreia mentioned in comment 3 is in the MonoDevelop 3.0 branch, so I'm closing it again. Please reopen only if it still happens with MD 3.0.
