On UWP, when the device has no hardware buttons but software buttons at the bottom, the buttons always overlay the screen when using a ContentPage. With a NavigationPage everything is working like expected.
Workaround:
In the UWP project, open MainPage.xaml.cs and after the LoadApplication() add the following:



            UpdateBounds(ApplicationView.GetForCurrentView().VisibleBounds);
            ApplicationView.GetForCurrentView().VisibleBoundsChanged += (view, sender) => { UpdateBounds(view.VisibleBounds); };
        }

        private void UpdateBounds(Rect bounds)
        {
            double height = bounds.Height;
            double width = bounds.Width;

            if (Windows.Foundation.Metadata.ApiInformation.IsTypePresent("Windows.UI.ViewManagement.StatusBar"))
            {
                StatusBar statusBar = StatusBar.GetForCurrentView();

                bool landscape = Windows.UI.ViewManagement.ApplicationView.GetForCurrentView().Orientation == ApplicationViewOrientation.Landscape;
                if (landscape)
                    width += statusBar.OccludedRect.Width;
                else
                    height += statusBar.OccludedRect.Height;

            this.Height = height;
        }
