Compile the attached sample with gmcs

result:
example.cs(21,17): error CS1540: Cannot access protected member `AdapterType.DoSomething()' via a qualifier of type `AdapterType'. The qualifier must be of type `Dummy' or derived from it


This code compiles fine with csc
