Comment 5 Jeremy Kolb 2016-10-31 15:55:55 UTC
My bad it just blocked the deployment.
Comment 6 Jeremy Kolb 2016-10-31 15:58:01 UTC
Actually it does block the Archive Manager making it impossible to Archive the apk.
Comment 7 Jeremy Kolb 2016-10-31 18:38:08 UTC
I was able to work around this by removing <AndroidManagedSymbols>True</AndroidManagedSymbols> from my csproj file so the symbolicate step was skipped. I'm not sure how that got enabled. Once removed it didn't seem to change any of the UI settings in the project.
Comment 8 Brendan Zagaeski (Xamarin Team, assistant) 2016-11-02 01:15:16 UTC
I will mark this bug as a duplicate of a new bug I have filed that precisely characterizes the appearance of this problem in the XamarinVS 4.2.0.719 version. As mentioned there, my suspicion is that this problem might be related to the particular build environment (the particular computer) that was used to build this exact problematic version of the Xamarin.VisualStudio installer. I suspect that could explain why the issue has somewhat "mysteriously" appeared and disappeared both in this bug (Bug 43833) as well as in one other report of the problem (Bug 44105).
