Description John Hardman 2016-08-10 16:42:19 UTC
Using DisplayActionSheet, with a title argument that contains CR/LF (carriage return/linefeed) results in any text after the CR/LF being discarded.

On UWP, the second line (i.e. the text after the CR/LF) is displayed beneath the first line (i.e. the text before the CR/LF).

On Android, the second line is simply discarded.

Whilst the documentation at https://developer.xamarin.com/api/member/Xamarin.Forms.Page.DisplayActionSheet/p/System.String/System.String/System.String/System.String[]/
does say that the method "Displays a native platform action sheet", most users of Xamarin.Forms will not know the different behaviors on Android, iOS, WinPhone Silverlight, WinRT and UWP.

Either the DisplayActionSheet method should produce consistent behavior across platforms, or the documentation should be updated to identify any known differences (in this case a multi-line title being displayed correctly on UWP, but not on Android).

Hi John we understand your request but like you stated the documentation says is a native platform action sheet, so we don't want users to expect the same UI and behavior in all platforms.

This seems something that could be address with PlatformSpecifics via custom renderer or a feature that will be introduced soon.

Warm Regards

Hi Rui.

Can the documentation be updated to identify any known differences (in this case a multi-line title being displayed correctly on UWP, but not on Android).

Many thanks.

Hi John,

I can put that change in a note in the API doc, or see if I can reword the summary to better reflect the behavior you describe.

@Mike Norman - Is the change to the wording being actioned? I haven't seen a change on the page at https://developer.xamarin.com/api/member/Xamarin.Forms.Page.DisplayActionSheet/p/System.String/System.String/System.String/System.String[]/
