## Note to the Xamarin team

I ended up testing this bug and Bug 42908 fairly thoroughly while I was working on updating a slightly different bug with a similar set of warning messages. My testing showed that for shared projects this bug (Bug 42909) has precisely the same version dependencies as Bug 42908: it is resolved in Xamarin.Forms 2.2.0.45. Based on that result, I am comfortable saying that this bug is just a "secondary" symptom of Bug 42908. I am accordingly marking this bug as a duplicate.

## Note about a remaining issue for the Xamarin.Android project in the Xamarin.Forms _portable_ project template

New _portable_ projects still show this warning for the Android app project as of Cycle 8 SR 1, but that is a different problem (Bug 23210). As discussed in the latest update on Bug 23210, that issue is caused by a more general problem in the Xamarin.Android targets rather than anything specific to Xamarin.Forms or portable libraries. So it will be best to track that remaining issue via the existing Bug 23210.
