Description Adam Hartley [MSFT] 2016-07-20 15:47:19 UTC
Since updating to the latest version (9.8.1.4), when building for a device the following error occurs.

I cannot reproduce that with the same stable versions of the products and a new project.

The logs don't speak to me right now, cc: Jeff who might know.

In any case, for any bug. It's always best to provide a project that helps us reproduce the bug as this could be the result of a miss-configuration.

@adam could you please reach out to the customer to try to give us some repro steps?

What's this file? /Volumes/E/sho_Mobile Client Integration/Mobile Client/MobileClient/MobileClient.iOS/bin/iPhone/Debug/build-ipad3.6-9.3.2/MobileClientiOS.app/.smbdeleteAAAd00000000df1a

That looks like some sort of temp file that shouldn't be there. It might have been accidentally included in the .csproj when it shouldn't have been?
Comment 6 sn2901 2016-07-27 08:01:52 UTC
I think that file is autogenerated by OS X everytime I try to build the project. However, I couldn't find that it's included accidentally anywhere in the .csproj-File.

Do you have any other suggestions?
Comment 8 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2016-08-01 12:27:35 UTC
Is this project located on an external drive / shared folder? Does the same thing happen if you copy the solution to the mac itself?
Comment 9 sn2901 2016-08-01 14:50:48 UTC
Yes, the project is located on a shared network folder and we've been working with that setup for several years until now. When I copy all the files to the Mac itself it works.
Comment 10 Rolf Bjarne Kvinge [MSFT] 2016-08-01 15:07:29 UTC
The problem is something related to your shared network folder then.

From the error message it looks like the file .smbdeleteAAAd00000000df1a somehow ended up in the app when it was signed, and then later removed. That removal causes the app signature check to fail.

My suggestion would be to look into why these .smbdelete files show up, and if you can somehow prevent that from happening.
